The MC-Bauchemie Müller GmbH & Co. KG is an internationally active German manufacturer of construction chemical products and techniques. The group of companies operates in more than 40 countries with over 2,500 employees and has been producing solutions for tempering concrete and for protecting and maintaining buildings since 1961 . The company's headquarters are in Bottrop , North Rhine-Westphalia . The company has two locations there, which in addition to the main administration house the logistics and parts of the production. A total of around 500 employees are employed here, around 800 nationwide.

history

Heinrich W. Müller (1915–2010) founded the company in 1961 in Essen with 25 employees. In 1963 he set up a production facility for concrete and mortar additives in Bottrop . In the 1970s, MC expanded its business across Germany. The expansion across the German borders began in 1970 with the establishment of a company in France .

With the entry of the company's founder's sons, Claus-Michael Müller and Bertram Rüdiger Müller (1952–2012), into the management, the group of companies expanded increasingly in Europe. Starting from a sister company in Ireland , a large number of subsidiaries emerged , from the mid-1980s onwards, increasingly beyond European borders. In January 1985, the company founded the first company outside of Europe in New Bombay, India, in order to open up the Asian market from there.

After the political change in Eastern Europe and the reunification in Germany, MC-Bauchemie began in 1990 with the establishment of sales organizations in East Germany and in the following years with sales organizations and productions in the former Eastern Bloc countries . At the same time, business was further expanded in Central and Western Europe.

After the turn of the millennium, the internationalization of MC continued to advance: With MC-Brasil, a separate production platform was set up for South America, with MC-Taiwan another company was founded for the Asian market. In mid-2012, MC-Bauchemie started its own company in Guinea in order to gain a foothold on the West African market.

In 2012 a location was established in Chile . At the end of 2015, MC-Bauchemie Chile took over Bautek, a company founded in Santiago de Chile in 1994, which is known in the Andean country for products for construction, industry and mining. MC-Bauchemie Chile and Bautek became MC Bautek Chile in 2016.

In August 2017, MC-Bauchemie in Vietnam took over the majority of the shares in BIFI JSC, a Vietnamese manufacturer of concrete admixtures and grinding aids for the cement industry , and entered into a joint venture with some of the previous shareholders . The new company is now called MC-BIFI Bauchemie JSC and has been active in Southeast Asia since November 8, 2017.

Today the medium-sized company with over 2,500 employees is active in more than 40 countries.

The business areas of MC-Bauchemie are broken down as follows:

The area MC for Concrete Industry produces, among other things for manufacturers of ready-mix concrete , precast concrete and concrete products various concrete and mortar admixtures , post-treatment and release agents and concrete cosmetics.

The MC for Infrastructure & Industry division develops solutions for the repair of bridges , tunnels, parking garages, airports, port facilities and sewage systems. It includes various products for concrete repair, surface protection systems, coating systems, injection systems, joint sealing, building waterproofing, construction site products and, with the “ombran” range, special products for underground infrastructure.

The MC for Buildings division develops solutions for building construction . These include the task fields of old building repair, building waterproofing, concrete repair, surface protection systems, coating systems, injection systems, joint sealing, screed systems and construction site products.

The Commercial Unit MC for Consumer belong with its sister companies Botament and Ultrament two suppliers of products for the specific needs of professional fabricators and end users .
