MGE USV-Systeme is a manufacturer of systems for uninterruptible power supply . Formerly part of the Merlin Gerin group, MGE is now a subsidiary of Schneider Electric . The company has 170 offices in over 100 countries. There are a total of 12,000 employees, including 900 service specialists.
history
MGE was originally part of Merlin Gerin . When Merlin Gerin was transferred to Schneider Electric in 1994 , MGE was spun off and sold. Schneider Electric later bought the company back and has run it as a subsidiary ever since. On February 8, 2007, Schneider Electric took over American Power Conversion and merged the company with MGE.
The single-phase range of MGE UPS systems, "MGE Office Protection Systems", was taken over by the Eaton Corporation on November 1st, 2007 , following the requirements of the European Union .
