MODE21
MODUS21 for MOD ell U ompany S chule in 21 . Century , was a model test of the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg for different types of schools, which was started in 2002 and completed in July 2007. The experiment was funded by the Bavarian Education Pact Foundation and carried out in cooperation with the Bavarian State Ministry for Education and Culture .
Goal and structure
The aim is to promote more independence and entrepreneurial thinking in schools. Positive results from MODUS21 are to be adopted in school practice in the future.
The attempt is modular and includes the core subjects work quality of teaching and education , personnel management and human resources management , Internal and extra-curricular partnerships and material resources responsibility .
The participating schools are allowed to go beyond the applicable school regulations when trying out suitable methods for strengthening their independence in case of educational necessity, as long as the requirements of the Bavarian Education and Teaching Act (BayEUG) and the curricula are adhered to.
Initially 23 and finally 44 pilot schools of various types of schools (special schools, elementary schools, secondary schools, elementary schools, grammar schools and vocational schools) took part in the experiment.
Results
30 tried and tested measures of the MODUS21 schools were approved for all schools at the beginning of the 2005/06 school year. This has given all Bavarian schools more independence and greater freedom in the design of lessons and schools. The schools are free to choose suitable measures from the areas of school organization , individual support , performance assessment as well as personnel management and personnel management of the project.
