MPX connectors are six-pole, reverse polarity protected connectors for high current applications used in model making . The connectors are manufactured by Multiplex Modellsport , a company that manufactures model construction items.

construction

To distinguish it from other connector systems from the manufacturer, the connectors are designated as MPX connectors M6 according to the number of contacts , the sockets are designated MPX socket M6 . They have no strain relief and no kink protection . Up to 35 A continuous current and up to 60 A for 30 s can be conducted through the connector  , but in this case three gold-plated contact blades must be connected in parallel.

Areas of application

MPX connectors are used as high-current plug-in connections for power supply, for example for connecting accumulators . Three contact blades must be connected in parallel.

In the case of low currents, the contact blades do not need to be connected in parallel and, for example, four servos plus servo power supply can be routed via one connector. The power supply for the servos is shared for all servos via a total of two contacts (+ and -), the remaining four contacts are available for the impulse lines of the servos. There is no binding rule for the pin assignment.
