from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The MTS system was an absolute, mechanical system of units introduced in France around 1919 , which was based on the basic units meter  (m), ton  (t) and second  (s).

Derived units were u. a. Ster for volume , Sthen for strength and Pièze for pressure .

With the development of the International System of Units , the MTS system lost its importance and was finally absorbed into it.
