Małgorzata Krasińska

Małgorzata Krasińska (* 1938 ) is the head of the bison ecology group at the Institute for Mammal Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences and works in the Białowieża National Park . She specializes in the biology and ecology of bison and has mainly researched the morphology and ecology of the wild populations in the Białowieża jungle . She has worked there since she graduated from the Veterinary Faculty of the Warsaw School of Agriculture in 1961 . Until 1976 she was mainly engaged in crossing bison with domestic cattle. She is among other things co-author of the rules for the protection and rearing of bison and a member of the IUCN / SSC Bison Specialist Group .

She is married to her former fellow student Zbigniew Krasiński , who, like her, works in bison research.
