MacDermid Performance Solutions (MPS) is an international specialty chemicals and electrical engineering company headquartered in Waterbury , Connecticut , USA .
The company is a division of Platform Specialty Products Corp. and thus the mainstay of PSP alongside the Agricultural Solutions division .
MPS went out of the takeover of the British Alent plc. by the US-American PSP. As part of the takeover, the independent MacDermid division was merged with the operational units of Alent. The companies MacDermid, Enthone, Alpha Assembly Solutions , Compugraphics and Fernox are now combined under MPS . Since the merger, MPS has been one of the leading providers of specialty chemical processes and systems for the printed circuit board , chip carrier and semiconductor industries (electronics) as well as decorative and functional surface finishing (general metal finishing).
MPS is active in more than 50 countries and has production facilities in Germany , Italy and Great Britain for the European market as well as in North and South America and Asia. MPS ended 2016 with sales of approximately $ 1.8 billion and an EBITDA of $ 434 million.
