do it applied

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

mach's applied (short name MACH , until 2005 art and politics ) is a parliamentary group in the student body at the University of Applied Arts Vienna (HUFAK), which is represented with a mandate in the federal student body after the 2009 ÖH elections . Mach's applied has long been the dominant faction in the HUFAK, but was part of the Independent Student Council Lists of Austria (FLÖ) nationwide until 2007 .

Despite relatively large losses in the 2009 ÖH elections, mach's applied still has an absolute majority in the university representation and therefore continued to appoint Paul-Reza Klein as the chairman of the HUFAK. His deputy was Olivia Kaiser, who also held the mandate in the federal representation before Klein handed over the chairmanship to her at the end of 2009.

In June 2009 there was a scandal when Klein's predecessor as HUFAK chairman, Leo Moringer, had a 3.5 ton swastika sculpture erected in front of the university. Both Rector Gerald Bast and the HUFAK distanced themselves from Moringer's action. After two days, the concrete sculpture entitled Love became. all taken away at the behest of the university.

In the 2011 ÖH elections, too, 'make it applied' emerged as the list with the highest number of votes with 62.7%. Hannah Rosa Öllinger took over the chairmanship of HUFAK, whose first project, the low-threshold exhibition room 'Hufak Offspace', gives all students the opportunity to use the university with regular exhibitions. It was the only list to appear in the 2013 ÖH elections and thus received 100% of the valid votes.
