The Club Mach 1 (own spelling m> 1 ) is one of the oldest discos in the Nuremberg region . Founded as the successor to Charlie M in the late 1980s, he was for years a leader in progressive house music . It is located in the middle of Nuremberg's old town opposite the Fleischbrücke .
Many international DJs perform there regularly to this day. In 1996 the British singer and DJ Boy George made his first appearance there in Germany. The club was founded by Helmut Schmelzer and Andreas Detterbeck, other operators were Peter Priedoehl, Max Weisshuhn and Wolfgang Boss . The club retained its leading role through renovations, in the early 1990s, for example, with illuminated glass blocks throughout. The Bravo Supershow was held there in 2008 .
