Wolfgang Boss is a German music manager, music producer and owner of the "B1 Recordings" label, a joint venture with Sony Music Germany . He also works with the Sony Music International team in London, where he is Executive Vice President A&R. His successes include over 100 gold and platinum awards .

Life

During his studies, Boss worked as a DJ . He became a club manager and founded his own house music club Mach 1 . Here he came into contact with international DJs and artists from the house scene. In 2004, one year after starting his own company "Mach 1 Records GmbH" (Berlin) as a partner in the newly founded house label "Ministry of Sound Germany", Boss achieved two numbers with Dragostea din tei by Haiducii and Obsessión by Aventura . one hits in Germany .

In 2005 Wolfgang Boss produced the music for the Crazy Frog project together with the German producer Reinhardt "Voodoo" Reith . The single Crazy Frog became a number one hit in over 30 countries (including Great Britain, France, Sweden, Russia, South Africa, India, Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand). The corresponding ringtone (marketed by Jamba ) became the world's best-selling ringtone. Crazy Frog was replaced by Popcorn , the second Crazy Frog single. With over 1.3 million albums sold in North America, Crazy Frog positioned itself as the most successful German pop production on the international market in the 2000s.

In 2006 Wolfgang Boss, in cooperation with Konrad von Löhneysen from “Ministry of Sound Germany”, produced an album for FIFA for Goleo VI , the mascot of the soccer world cup in Germany . The single Goleo VI pres. Bob Sinclar : Love Generation stayed at number 1 in the German charts for eleven weeks and became the best-selling single in Germany in 2006.

In 2007, Wolfgang Boss accepted an offer from Universal Music and founded B1 Recordings as a joint venture with Universal Music Germany. In the following years numerous commercially successful productions by artists such as Milow ( Ayo Technology ), Stromae ( Alors on danse ), Edward Maya ( Stereo Love ), Pitbull ( I know you want me ) and Klingande ( Jubel ), Michel appeared under the label Telo ( Ai Se Eu Te Pego ) and Israel "IZ" Kamakawiwo'ole ( Over The Rainbow ).

In 2014 Wolfgang Boss entered into a joint venture with Sony Music Entertainment Germany with his label "B1 Recordings" . He also works with the Sony Music International team in London, where he is Executive Vice President A&R .
