Parson James

Parson James (born June 7, 1994 in Cheraw , South Carolina ; real name Ashton Parson ) is an American singer-songwriter . He became known through the single "Stole the Show", which he released together with the Norwegian music producer Kygo. He is currently under contract with the major label RCA Records .

life and career

Parson James was born to a dark-skinned father and a light-skinned mother. He and his single mother lived in Cheraw , South Carolina. At the age of 17 he decided to move to New York City in the hope of finding more opportunities for a mixed-skinned homosexual man there than in his conservative homeland.

On March 23, 2015, he released the single Stole the Show together with the Norwegian music producer Kygo . It became Parson's greatest commercial success. The song reached high chart positions in numerous countries and received several gold awards for music sales. After the single was released, he signed a recording contract with the New York music label RCA Records . His first EP, The Temple , was released in 2016 and distributed through Sony Music and RCA Records.
