Milow at the Radio Regenbogen Award 2017 in Europa-Park in Rust

Milow, born in the Antwerp district of Borgerhout, grew up in the small town of Haacht in the province of Flemish Brabant north of Brussels. He first appeared in front of a larger audience in 2004 as part of the Humo's Rock Rally music competition . There he made it to the finals, but missed a place on the podium despite the consistently positive reviews of the jury, especially for the song You Don't Know , which he wrote. In January 2006 he released his debut album called The Bigger Picture , which he recorded under his own direction with the help of producer Nigel Powell. He was able to win guest musicians such as Sergej Van Bouwel, Frederic Sioen and Johannes Verschaeve for the recordings .

There was no success for the time being. Although the single One of It was released from it reached the list of the chart show De Afrekening of the Belgian youth radio Studio Brussel , the album initially missed the Flemish sales charts. Commercial success only began with the release of the single You Don't Know in spring 2007. It rose to number 3 in the Flemish Ultra Top 50 and stayed in the charts for a total of 42 weeks. In the wake of this success, his one year old album rose to number 10 in the charts.

In February 2008, the follow-up album Coming of Age was released . With him, he was at number 1 in the Flemish album charts for a week two weeks after the release . In October of the same year he repeated this success in the single charts with a cover version of the hit Ayo Technology , originally by 50 Cent , Justin Timberlake and Timbaland . In the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland it reached number 1 in the single charts. Although he missed first place in Germany, at the end of the year he was third in the top-selling titles of 2009. With You Don't Know he achieved a comparatively smaller success: Although he did not make it into the top ten in a week, he was in the annual charts in 49th place.

On January 17th, 2010 he recorded a new version of his song Out of My Hands in Brussels with the Norwegian singer Marit Larsen . The song is included on a new edition of the Milow album released in March 2010 as well as a re-release of the album If a Song Could Get Me You by Marit Larsen.

On April 1, 2011, his third studio album North and South was released . The included song You and Me (In My Pocket) , which was released as a maxi CD on March 4, 2011, sold more than 150,000 times in Europe.

His fourth studio album Silver Linings was released in March 2014 and the fifth under the name Modern Heart in May 2016 .

In December 2018, Milow headlined the Night of the Proms concert tour in Germany and Luxembourg alongside Bryan Ferry , Tim Bendzko , John Miles and the Pointer Sisters , as well as performing in Belgium and the Netherlands a. a. next to Suzanne Vega in November.

In 2019 he was a participant in the sixth season of Sing my song - The exchange concert on VOX . His sixth studio album Lean into Me was released in May 2019 .
