Géo André (actually Georges Yvan André ; born August 13, 1889 in Paris , † May 4, 1943 in Bizerta , Tunisia ) was a French athlete who took part in the Olympic Games four times, and rugby union player.
At the Olympic Games in London in 1908 , he shared the silver medal with Con Leahy and István Somodi in the high jump with a jump of 1.88 m , behind Harry Porter (1.905 m). In the standing vault , he was fifth.
In 1912 in Stockholm he was eliminated in the high jump, standing high jump and standing long jump in the preliminary round. In the 110-meter hurdles he reached the semi-finals, in the pentathlon he finished 22nd, and in the decathlon he gave up after seven disciplines.
In 1913 and 1914 he played seven times in the French national rugby union team .
At the Olympic Games in Antwerp in 1920 he was fourth in the 400-meter hurdles and reached the semifinals in the 400-meter run . In the 4 x 400 meter relay , he won bronze as part of the French team.
Four years later he took the Olympic oath at the opening ceremony of the 1924 Olympic Games in Paris . He finished fourth again over 400 m hurdles.
In the high jump he was six times (1907–1909, 1911, 1914, 1919), in the standing vault also six times (1909, 1911, 1912, 1914, 1919, 1920), in the 110-meter hurdles four times (1908, 1914, 1919, 1922 ) and in the 400 meter hurdles five times (1913, 1914, 1919, 1920, 1922) national champion.
