The city ofmacheng ( Chinese 麻 城市 , Pinyin Máchéng Shì ) is an independent city that belongs to the administrative area of the independent city of Huanggang in the Chinese province of Hubei . In 1999 it had 1,176,249 inhabitants.
The Baizi Pagoda (Baizi ta 柏 子 塔) has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (6-657) since 2006 .
