|
The village of Machtlfing is located in Upper Bavaria about 35 kilometers southwest of Munich. Machtlfing is a district of the Andechs community in the Starnberg district . Machtlfing is the smallest part of the Andechs community and has around 550 inhabitants.
history
Machtlfing was first mentioned in a document in 808.
Already settled during the Bronze and Hallstatt Ages, Celts , Romans and finally Bavarians settled here later . We find the first written evidence in the books of the Benediktbeuern monastery when a certain "Merigozus" bequeathed his possessions in "Mahtolvingin" to the monastery in 808. In the 12th century, Machtlfing was also the seat of a "high-class in the retinue of the Andechs ". In the Middle Ages, there are two churches in the small village, which lead to the division into upper and lower village.
In 1808, Machtlfing became an independent municipality and remained so until it was incorporated . On July 1, 1976, the place was incorporated into the municipality of Erling-Andechs (since January 2, 1978 Andechs ).
