Madagali is a city and Local Government Area in the state of Adamawa in northeast Nigeria near the border with Cameroon .

The Sukur cultural landscape is recognized as a World Heritage Site.

Madagali has been in the territory of the terrorist organization Boko Haram since 2009 . In 2014, the attempt to militarily push back the occupation failed. In 2015, a suicide bomber killed 25 people in an attack on a market square. On December 9, 2016, two female suicide bombers killed at least 56 people in a marketplace.
