The Madbachtalsperre is a dam in the urban area of Euskirchen (district Flamersheim ). A few hundred meters from the Madbachtalsperre is the Rheinbacher district Queckenberg .

description

The dam was built at the end of the 1930s to supply industrial water to the Euskirchen cloth industry. The construction was not completed due to the war, so that the capacity is just under 70,000 m³ instead of the planned 300,000. Completion was planned for the 1980s, but this was not completed due to the decline in the cloth industry. 1996–1997 the dam was technically overhauled. Process water for industry and agriculture is obtained from the dam. The operator is the Euskirchen-Swisttal water supply association.
