history

In 2011, Made My Day was founded by Alexander Bitschnau in Silbertal in Montafon ( Austria ). The presence on the social platform Instagram was introduced in 2013 and the first YouTube channel was launched in 2015. On Facebook, Made My Day has already achieved 4.5 million “Likes” with sayings integrated into photos. Made My Day is considered a pioneer in this area in German-speaking countries. Made My Day also produces entertainment and learning videos on its main YouTube channel. Alex Kraft has been the editor-in-chief since 2013. The network now includes several Facebook pages and YouTube channels. criticism

The RIVA-Verlag, which belongs to the Munich publishing group, was planning to publish a book in 2014 in cooperation with “Made My Day”, the proceeds of which would benefit the non-profit organization “Doctors of the World”. Because of this plan, numerous users of the Twitter platform were angry, as apparently a lot of the content was taken over from the said social medium without specifying sources. The legal situation, however, is clear: Made My Day is entitled to use short texts without citing the source due to the lack of creativity. RIVA-Verlag, represented by Oliver Schulz, was aware of this, as a similar book was to be published a few years earlier. In individual cases, it must be clarified in court whether the height of creation is given. Since December 2014, Made My Day has been providing the sources when they are verified.

The behavior of Made My Day has also been criticized on YouTube. Community members criticize Made My Day for copying video content from other YouTube channels.

Others

Made My Day also acts as a marketer. Made My Day markets various online projects in the entertainment and news sectors. Furthermore, Made My Day is in 58th place according to the list of the most subscribed YouTube channels in Germany (as of May 2020).
