Madeleine Milhaud
Madeleine Milhaud (born March 22, 1902 in Paris ; † January 17, 2008 there ) was a French librettist , actress and author. She was the cousin of the composer Darius Milhaud (1892–1974), whom she married in 1925.
Madeleine Milhaud began as an actress and reciter at a young age and met many artists of her time. In 1928 she was involved in Hans Richter's Dadaist film Morning Spook.
With Darius Milhaud she has a son, the painter Daniel Milhaud (* 1930). Darius' piano suite La Muse Menagère from 1944 is dedicated to her and represents a setting of their daily life together. Madeleine Milhaud wrote the libretti for her husband's operas Médée , Bolivar and La Mère coupable .
