Madelyn Byrne

Madelyn Byrne (* 1963 in New York City ) is an American composer and music teacher.

Madelyn Byrne studied composition with Charles Dodge , John Corigliano and David Olan . She was Gastkomponistin the Computer Music Center of Columbia University and has taught since 2000 at Palomar College . Her compositions have been performed at numerous new music festivals including The International Computer Music Conference , the Aries New Music Festival , the Australasian Computer Music Conference , the College Music Society Conference , Electronic Music Midwest , Imagine II , Merging Voices and the Western Illinois University New Music Festival .

With Rain Has Fallen and Winds of May for mixed choir and piano she won first prize at the Morningside College Choral Competition . A Winter Landscape (for bass flute and computer) was recorded by Peter Sheridan on the MOVE Records label. Arrival , a computer music with video art by Lily Glass , was released on DVD on Everglade Records and Peter Gach recorded her Northern Flight for piano and computer on Innova Records .
