The Belgian Grand Prix 2018 (official Formula 1 2018 Johnnie Walker Belgian Grand Prix ) took place on 26 August at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Spa place and was the thirteenth race of the Formula 1 World Championship in 2018 .

After the Hungarian Grand Prix , Lewis Hamilton led the drivers' standings with 24 points ahead of Sebastian Vettel and with 67 points ahead of Kimi Raikkonen . In the constructors' championship, Mercedes led Ferrari with ten points and Red Bull Racing with 122 points .

At the Belgian Grand Prix, Pirelli provided the drivers with the tire compounds P Zero Medium (white), P Zero Soft (yellow), P Zero Supersoft (red), as well as Cinturato Intermediates (green) and Cinturato Full Wets (blue) for wet conditions .

Marcus Ericsson (seven), Romain Grosjean , Räikkönen (five each), Pierre Gasly , Brendon Hartley , Sergei Sirotkin , Lance Stroll (four each), Kevin Magnussen , Sergio Pérez , Vettel, Max Verstappen (three each), Valtteri Bottas , Nico Hülkenberg , Daniel Ricciardo , Carlos Sainz jr. (two each) and Stoffel Vandoorne (one) went into the race weekend with penalty points.

With Raikkonen (four times), Hamilton (three times), Vettel (twice) and Ricciardo (once), four former winners competed in this Grand Prix.

Race stewards this weekend were Yves Bacquelaine (BEL), Garry Connelly (AUS), Mika Salo (FIN) and Vincenzo Spano (VEN).

In the first free practice Vettel was fastest in 1: 44.358 minutes ahead of Verstappen and Hamilton.

In the second free practice session, Raikkonen set the fastest time in 1: 43.355 minutes ahead of Hamilton and Bottas.

In the third free practice session, Vettel was again the fastest in 1: 42.661 minutes ahead of Raikkonen and Hamilton. The training had to be interrupted briefly after an accident by Vandoorne.

Vettel won the race ahead of Hamilton and Verstappen. It was the 52nd victory for Vettel in the Formula 1 World Championship, so he overtook Alain Prost and was in third place in the all-time best list behind Michael Schumacher and Hamilton. The other points were placed by Bottas, Sergio Pérez , Esteban Ocon , Grosjean, Magnussen, Gasly and Ericsson.
