Madhu Kishwar

Madhu Purnima Kishwar (* 1951 ) is an Indian academic and writer. She was a professor at the Center for the Study of Developing Countries (CSDS) based in Delhi .

life and career

Kishwar studied at Miranda House in Delhi , where she was the President of the Student Union, and then studied history at Jawaharlal Nehru University in Delhi.

Kishwar is the founding editor of Manushi - a feminist journal that has been in existence since 1979. She is also the founder of Manushi Sangathan, a forum for research-based activist intervention that advocates democratic reforms that promote greater social justice and strengthen human rights, especially for women.

In 2013, Madhu Kishwar wrote a series of articles called Modinama (Chronicles of Modi) in her magazine Manushi criticizing one-sided or false media reports of Narendra Modi . She then published the book "Modi, Muslims and Media" in which she presented a similar media criticism.
