The Madigan nunatak is an isolated nunatak in the East Antarctic Georg V country . It rises from the Antarctic Ice Sheet 29 km south of Cape Gray .
Participants of the Australasian Antarctic Expedition (1911-1914) under the direction of the Australian polar explorer Douglas Mawson discovered him. Mawson named him after Cecil Thomas Madigan (1889-1947), meteorologist on this research trip .
