particularities Highest mountain in South Africa

The Mafadi is a mountain in South Africa and Lesotho . The border between South Africa and Lesotho runs across its summit.

The Mafadi is 3450 meters high. This makes it the highest mountain in South Africa and, after Thabana Ntlenyana, the second highest mountain in the Drakensberg , in whose central region it is located. As part of the uKhahlamba Drakensberg Park , a South African national park, it has been one of the protected natural monuments on the UN World Heritage List since 2000 .

Routes to the summit

The Mafadi is tapped. Mountain hikes are mostly made from Injasuthi base camp (on the South African side) via Marble Bath and Leslie's Pass to the summit, which consists of a 20 meter high rock storm. The tours last between three and four days.
