Maggie McIntosh

Margaret L. "Maggie" McIntosh (born December 22, 1947 in Quinter , Kansas ) is an American politician ( Democratic Party ).

Life

McIntosh studied art education at Wichita State University and at Johns Hopkins University after leaving school . After graduating, she taught at the Baltimore City Public School from 1972 to 1978 and then worked in teacher training. She later worked for the City of Baltimore .

On November 10, 1992, she became a member of the Maryland House of Representatives in the 43rd District, replacing Anne Perkins . In 2001, during a debate on state anti-discrimination law in Maryland Parliament, she announced that she was gay .
