Wilson Enrique Pérez (born August 9, 1967 in Barranquilla ) is a former Colombian football player .

In the club he played for América de Cali from 1987 to 1995 and was Colombian champion four times during this time (1985, 1986, 1990, 1992). He then worked for Deportivo Unicosta . Until the end of his career in 2001, he held further positions at Independiente Medellín , again at América de Cali, Millonarios and Atlético Junior .

National team

The defender was a member of the national soccer team of Colombia, for which he completed a total of 47 international matches, in which he can show three personal goals. He made his debut on February 3, 1989, the last international game of Pérez dated June 26, 1994. With the Colombian selection, he took part in the 1994 World Cup. He was also a member of the Colombian squad at the 1989 and 1993 Copa América tournaments .

Others

Pérez was sentenced to four years in prison in 1997 in his hometown of Barranquilla after he was acquitted in the first instance on an appeal for drug trafficking. This was based on the fact that 180 grams of cocaine were found in 1995 at an airport.
