Magnes

Magnes ( Greek  Μάγνης ) is the son of Aiolos and Enarete in Greek mythology . His siblings are called Kretheus , Athamas , Salmoneus , Deion , Peisidike , Perieres , Kalyke , Perimede , Makarlus , Kanake and Alkyone . According to another tradition, he is the child of Zeus and Thyia . The Thessalian peninsula of Magnesia was named after him. The term magnet is also derived from him.
