Perieres (son of Aiolus)

Perieres ( Greek  Περιήρης ) is the son of Aiolus and Enarete in Greek mythology . His siblings are called Sisyphus , Kretheus , Salmoneus , Athamas , Deion , Magnes , Makarlus , Kanake , Alkyone , Preisidike , Kalyke and Perimede .

Five generations after the death of Polykaon , he became king of Messenia because the ruling family had no descendants. Perieres built his palace in Andania . He married Gorgophone , the daughter of Perseus . Both had two sons, Aphareus and Leucippus . He is also known as the father of Pisus. After Periere's death, Gorgophone married Oibalos .

He is sometimes confused or equated with Perieres , the son of Kynortas and father of Oibalos .
