Magni is an Italian motorcycle manufacturer .

history

Arturo Magni, (born September 24, 1925 in Usmate Velate ; † December 2, 2015 in Samarate ) formerly chief technician and race director at MV Agusta , after MV's withdrawal from the Grand Prix circus , started motorcycle tuning in 1976 made self-employed.

Since 1980 he has built his own motorcycles with his sons. Initially with Honda engines, the MH1 and MH2 models, later BMW engines were also used in the MB1 and MB2 models. Finally, from 1985 onwards, he devoted himself to the Moto Guzzi engines and successfully built them into his chassis. However, the motorcycles are marketed under the name Magni. Magni should therefore be viewed as an independent motorcycle brand and not as a tuner, although tuning parts for MV Agusta motorcycles have also been produced in the recent past.

Of the Moto-Guzzi powered models, the Sfida , in the more classic style, and the Australia should be mentioned. The latter got its name in memory of racing successes with these machines at Thunder bike races in Australia .

A special development is the rear swing arm il parallelogrammo , with which Magni attempted to minimize the load change reactions. These occur in motorcycles whose crankshaft is arranged in the direction of travel. Only the models with Moto-Guzzi engines are available from Magni, as the BMW disappeared from the portfolio before this swingarm was developed.

The Sport 1200 S was launched in 2000 . This machine is equipped (for the first time at Magni) with a Suzuki engine.

Motorcycles are still manufactured in Samarate , with Arturo Magnis' son Giovanni now in charge.

A racing machine will be used again in 2011 as a Magni Experience with a Moto-Guzzi engine.
