Magnitude
The word magnitude (from the Latin magnitudo for size or width) denotes:
- in technical terms generally an order of magnitude
- a measure of the visual brightness in astronomy, the apparent brightness
- a measure of the radiant power in astronomy, the absolute brightness
- a measure of the coverage during a lunar eclipse, see lunar eclipse #Magnitude
- a measure of the strength of an earthquake, see magnitude (earthquake)
- a measure of the strength of a volcanic eruption, see magnitude (volcanism)
