Magnus II (Norway)
Magnus II ( 1048 - April 28, 1069 ) was King of Norway from 1066 to 1069 .
Magnus was crowned King of Norway by his father Harald Hardråde in 1066 before leaving Norway to conquer England. Harald was accompanied by his second son Olav . After Harald Hardråde fell at the Battle of Stamford Bridge , Olav first went to Orkney and returned to Norway in 1067. Back in Norway he demanded his inheritance, so Magnus had to share Norway with his brother. Magnus received the northern half of the country. The division of Norway led to constant armed conflicts between the brothers.
