action

Tom Williams and his family are vacationing in California . There they meet Eddie, his girlfriend Lonnie and Franklin Ross, with whom they spend their time together. Tom accompanies Eddie and Franklin to a bar, after leaving the bar he is kidnapped. Eddie calls a ransom Toms entire fortune, 1.2 million US dollars . Together they go to a bank that only wants to pay out the money the next day after the transfer from Tom's house bank. Since Tom makes a small mistake, Eddie teaches him a lesson by murdering a random passerby in front of Tom.

Tom's family spends the night in the hands of the kidnappers. When a pizza delivery boy arrives, Eddie suddenly fears that he might have seen too much. He and Ross chase after the man, Tom overpowers Lonnie. The family escapes with a car, but there is a car accident. The first person the slightly injured Tom sees after the accident is Eddie.

In the morning Tom is increasingly worried that the kidnappers would murder the family as soon as they have the money. He escapes from the bank with the money and only wants to pay the money in two installments - the second installment only after the family is free. Ross agrees, he revolts against the tutelage of Eddie. For this he is later murdered by Eddie.

A fight ensues in which Tom kills Eddie. Lonnie takes Eddie's pistol and commits suicide by shooting in the head.
