Mahatma Gandhi Setu , also known as Gandhi Setu or Ganga Setu (German: Mahatma Gandhi Bridge), is a road bridge in the Indian state of Bihar that connects Patna on the south bank of the Ganges with Hajipur on the north bank of the river.

The bridge, built by Gammon India from 1972 to 1982 , has four lanes and a walkway on either side. It begins in Patna at a distance of around 1 km from the bank, crosses the river, which is around 2.2 km wide in the dry season, and then leads over an extensive, flat bank zone. The length of the bridge is regularly given as 5.575 km. However, the bridge will be continued over a longer stretch as a high bridge, resulting in a total length of 6.55 km. Until the opening of the Rajiv Gandhi Sea Link (Bandra – Worli Sea Link) in 2010, it was considered the longest bridge in India.

The Mahatma Gandi Setu is a prestressed concrete bridge with two haunched box girders and a cantilevered deck. The individual fields of the cantilever bridge have spans of 121 m.

In the last few years the increased traffic led to traffic jams and damage to the bridge. It is therefore planned to set up two pontoon bridges for light traffic next to the existing bridge.
