List of directional radio towers of energy supply companies in Germany

The substation in Vöhringen with the associated radio tower

Directional radio towers of energy supply companies in Germany are used for data transmission between power plants and substations on radio relay links . The antennas required for this are installed on towers, some of which are more than 100 meters high and are usually located on the area of the respective transformer or power stations, but also on overhead line masts, chimney platforms and roofs.

The directional radio is used in addition to other technologies (high-voltage lines via carrier frequency; mobile radio; cable connection (copper or fiber optic , mostly as aerial cables on high-voltage overhead line masts) and others).
