Pfahlbronn is a district of the municipality of Alfdorf in the Rems-Murr district . The village is 498 m above sea level. NN.

history

The place was created at the time of the Merovingians and was first mentioned in a document on July 22, 1293. The name is derived from the palisade of the Upper German-Raetian Limes , where the place is located. Most of the town came to the Lorch monastery and Pfahlbronn as the seat of an office as a Staufer foundation . Together with the Lorch Monastery, Pfahlbronn came to Württemberg as a result of the Reformation . The place then belonged to the Lorch Monastery Office until it was incorporated into the Oberamt Welzheim in 1806 . After its dissolution in 1938, Pfahlbronn came to the district of Gmünd (from 1941 district of Schwäbisch Gmünd ) and with the district reform of Baden-Württemberg in 1973 to the Rems-Murr district.

Pfahlbronn was an independent municipality with an area of ​​39.05 km² and 2047 inhabitants (as of 1970) until it was united with the communities of Alfdorf and Vordersteinenberg on January 1, 1972. The Pfahlbronn community included the village of Pfahlbronn, the hamlets of Adelstetten, Brech, Brend, Buchengehren, Burgholz, Enderbach, Haghof, Haselhof, Höldis, Mannholz , Mittelweiler, Rienharz , Schmidhof, Tannhof and Voggenberg, the courtyards Burgholzhof, Döllenhof, Fritzhof, Hagmühle, Leinecksmühle, Niederheckenhof, Schenkhöfle and Schmidhöfle as well as the Buchengehrener Sägmühle, Burgholzer Sägmühle, Gehäuhaus, Haghofer Ölmühle, Haldenhof, Mannholzer Ölmühle, Pfahlbronner Mühle, Rienharzer Sägmühle, Voggenberger Sägmühle and Voggenbergmühle. The remains of the lost Leineck Castle stand on a mountain spur above the Leinecksmühle .

The area of ​​the municipality, which was independent until 1972, forms the districts of Pfahlbronn and Rienharz without the Meuschenmühle farm, which previously belonged to the Alfdorf municipality.
