history

The first written mention of the place Remptendorf comes from the year 1325, at that time still as Reinbotindorf . In the 15th century, two manors were listed in the church register, remnants of which are still available today.

A castle site is located in the middle of the Liebschütz district. In 1793 Friedrich von Hake probably built a castle named after him on the foundation walls of the fortification protected by a moat. The kemenaten-like building still stands proudly in place. On the way from Weißbach to Lückenmühle was a small castle complex, which later became a free courtyard. It was certainly a fortified mansion. Remnants of the attachment can still be seen.

From 1922 Remptendorf belonged to the Schleiz district. From 1952 to 1994 Remptendorf was part of the Lobenstein district. Until 1998 Remptendorf was a member of the Saale-Sormitz-Höhen administrative community . As a result of the municipal reform in Thuringia on July 1, 1999, the municipalities of Altengesees , Burglemnitz , Eliasbrunn , Gahma , Liebengrün , Rauschengesees , Remptendorf (with Lückenmühle), Ruppersdorf , Thierbach , Thimmendorf and Weisbach formed the new, larger overall municipality of Remptendorf. The community of Liebschütz was incorporated as a district on September 29, 2000. Furthermore, Remptendorf was a fulfilling municipality for Burgk , which was incorporated into the town of Schleiz on December 31, 2019 .

coat of arms

Coat of arms of Thierbach

Blazon : "Three symbolically represented green mountains above a blue wave shield base in blue, topped with a doe in natural colors."

The present coat of arms was redesigned in 1988 and justified as follows: The place name “Thierbach” probably goes back to the old animal “Hirschkuh”. This idea was used in the redesign of the coat of arms in 1988. The coat of arms shows a doe by the brook; in the background the mountains Wetzstein, Kulm and Henneberg are shown.
