Liebengrün is a district of the municipality of Remptendorf in the Saale-Orla district .
geography
The place Liebengrün is located in the middle of the Thuringian Slate Mountains and is in the immediate vicinity of the Bleilochtalsperre and the Hohenwarte reservoir . The district of the place is shown with an area of 1012 ha.
history
The place was mentioned for the first time in 1377 and was soon a market town with its own lower jurisdiction and brewing rights . In the Middle Ages, those from Obernitz from Liebschütz were wealthy here.
Liebengrün developed into a market town with its own council, but after 1815 it sank into a Prussian community.
In 1719, the original Angerdorf was almost completely destroyed in a major fire, and the church was also destroyed. It was rebuilt from 1722, but was not completed until 1745. In 1906 the entire west side of the town was destroyed by another major fire. However, the place is rebuilt every time. The place belonged to the electoral office of Ziegenrück until 1815 and after its assignment, decided at the Congress of Vienna , came to the Prussian district of Ziegenrück , to which the place belonged until 1945.
During the time of the GDR, Liebengrün belonged to the Lobenstein district in the Gera district . After 1990, it was a member of the Saale-Sormitz-Höhen administrative community until it was incorporated into the district reform in Thuringia on July 1, 1999. Since then, it has been a part of the Remptendorf community .
