The townscape and landscape of the municipality of Tömmelsdorf are shaped by agriculture. This is what the plow is in the coat of arms. There are also numerous fish ponds in the corridor. Pond farming has a centuries-old tradition and was already practiced by local monks; therefore z. B. also the name "Bartholomäusteich". The carp in the coat of arms refers to the fish ponds.
