Pörmitz is a municipality in the Saale-Orla district in Thuringia, about 3 km north of the district town of Schleiz . It belongs to the Lake District administrative community .

Pörmitz was first mentioned in a document in 1310.

In 1832 the old church was demolished. The new classical church was inaugurated in 1833.
