Mahjar Alisadeh ( listen ? / I PersianAudio file / audio sample مهیار علیزاده; * 1981 in Tehran ) is an Iranian musician and composer .

Life

Alisadeh was born in Tehran in 1981. At the age of 10, with the support of his mother and constant encouragement from his father, who is himself an artist and contemporary Iranian painter, he began to play the tar with Maestro Keiwan Saket and to learn traditional Persian music. After a few years he made several appearances as an instrumentalist, together with Maestro Keiwan Saket and the Visiri Orchestra.

After he had passed his Abitur in the Alborz School, he studied with the masters of the music faculty of the University of Tehran . After completing his bachelor's degree, he passed the entrance exam for the master’s degree in composition, but preferred foreign universities for his further studies.

First he entered the state Komitas Conservatory in Yerevan, where he discovered a new dimension of music for the first time. The experiences from studying in Armenia have fundamentally changed his ideas about composition, so that today he himself emphasizes that it has divided his career as a musician into two phases.

After studying music composition for two years at the conservatory, he was given the opportunity to study for a master’s degree at the University of Vienna , which is why he moved to the music capital of Europe.

In 2009 he started work on his debut album in Armenia entitled "Harigh-e Khazan" ("The Fire of Autumn"), which was finally recorded in collaboration with the Persian singer Aliresa Ghorbani. The album is published by the record company Awaje Barbod and became the best-selling album of classical Persian music in 2011 and 2012 in Iran. Mahjar Alisadeh's success has continued to this day in numerous albums and concerts with the composer and musician Aliresa Ghorbani.

His more recent works include the album “Dar shoa'l-e ba to raghsan” (“Dancing with you in the fire”) in cooperation with Saber Abar, Homajun Schadscharian and Aliresa Ghorbani, as well as various compositions for various television series, animations and films.

His most recent album, "Dokhte Parivar", ("Angel-Like Girl"), released in collaboration with Alireza Ghorbani in 2016, is one of ten bestselling albums this year in Iran. Alizadeh is currently working on some projects with the voices of different singers, such as Mehran Modiri and Mohammad Motamedi. The last concert of his works took place in the Vahdat concert hall in Tehran on ten evenings. It will soon have some performances in Europe.
