Mahmut Erdem

Mahmut Erdem (* 1963 in Gemerek , Sivas , Turkey ) is a Turkish-German politician on the Green Alternative List (GAL) and a former member of the Hamburg Parliament .

Life and work

Born in Turkey, Erdem came to Germany in 1971 as a child. From 1984 he studied law at the universities of Göttingen and Hamburg . He has been a German citizen since 1989 and has been an independent lawyer since 1995.

politics

Erdem was a deputy for the GAL in the interior authorities. In 1994 he was a member of the 10th Federal Assembly ( Roman Herzog was elected ) and ran for the German Bundestag via the GAL Landesliste-Hamburg in the same year . But he missed the move into parliament.

For the GAL he was a member of the Hamburg citizenship in the 16th electoral term from 1997 to 2001. For his parliamentary group he sat on the submission committee, the interior committee and the legal committee.
