Maiji

The municipality of Maiji ( Chinese 麦积区 , Pinyin Màijī Qū ) in the Chinese province of Gansu belongs to the administrative area of the prefecture-level city of Tianshui . It has an area of 3,452 square kilometers and has a population of around 580,000 (2004). In 2004 the district of Beidao (麦积区) was renamed to its current name Maiji.
