Maik Robert Cioni (born October 17, 1979 in Essen ) is a former German - Italian cyclist and water polo player .
Maik Cioni played for Blau-Weiß Bochum in the German Water Polo League until 2005 .
In 2005, Cioni retired from water polo and focused on road cycling . From 2009 to 2016 he drove for various Greek, Romanian and Iranian UCI Continental teams .
