Maik Göpel (born January 30, 1963 ) is a German musician, songwriter and author.

Life

As a child, Maik Göpel first played as a drummer in various orchestras and bands, and then as a teenager on the guitar. Vocal training with Anna-Maria Bendfeldt in Erfurt brought him to the chanson stage and singer-songwriter scene. He was the musical accompanist for author readings and prepared his own recitals.

Since 2005, the trained electrician has been working full-time as a musician and songwriter on the cabaret and children's stages in our country. His wife, Silvia Göpel, gives him diverse musical accompaniment and support in developing the songs and programs. Seven CDs were made during this time. A tour, with the support of the Foreign Office and the Goethe-Institut San Francisco, took him to a four-week guest performance along the west coast of the USA as far as Mexico. Today Maik Göpel lives as a freelance musician and author in  Friedrichroda .

The sheet music collection My Hands Can Talk with 16 children's songs by Maik Göpel, with singing voice, guitar accompaniment, intros and many suggestions for participation and play, was created in cooperation with Edition Peters Leipzig and the Pro Kita publishing house in Bonn. At the Leipzig Book Fair in 2016, it was presented for the first time in two events with Silvia & Maik Göpel and children from the MDR-KINDERCHOR.
