Main source

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Main Source (1989–1994) was a hip hop group from Toronto and New York City . The group originally consisted of the members Sir Scratch (Toronto), K-Cut (Toronto) and Large Professor (New York).

The group Main Source (in German about "information source") was founded in 1989 by three young musicians. Her debut album called Breaking Atoms was released in 1991 and received good reviews. The then 18-year-old rapper Nas was heard for the first time on Breaking Atoms in a song called Live At The Barbeque . The group disbanded in 1994 due to financial differences. That year, however, a second album called Fuck What You Think was produced, for which Large Professor was exchanged for Mikey D.

After separating from Main Source, all members went their own way. Large Professor produced to date songs and worked with bands like Rakim , Pete Rock & CL Smooth , Nas and Diamond D together.
