Maipo Canal

The Maipo Canal is located in the Santiago Metropolitan Region in Chile . It connects the Río Mapocho and Río Maipo and supplies water to San Bernardo and Santiago de Chile. It was built between 1811 and 1827 (with interruptions due to the War of Independence) partly with the participation of prisoners.
