The mountain Maysan ( kor. 마이산 , Maysan ) is located in Maysan Provincial Park , County Jinan , province of Jeollanam-do .
The name Maisan literally means "horse-eared mountain" as the two peaks of the mountain resemble the ears of a horse. Locals refer to the higher peak ( 686 m ) as a wife and the lower peak ( 667 m ) as a husband.
At the foot of the mountain is the famous Tapsa temple . Other temples in the Maisan Provincial Park are the Eunsusa and Geumdangsa .
