Jeff Morrow

Leslie Irving "Jeff" Morrow (born January 13, 1907 in New York City , New York - † December 26, 1993 in Canoga Park , San Fernando Valley , California ) was an American actor .

Life

Morrow began his acting career in 1927. Three years later he had his first engagement on Broadway . Until 1942 he played in the Shakespeare productions A Midsummer Night's Dream as Lysander , in Romeo and Juliet as Tybalt and in Macbeth as Seton . At that time he appeared under the name Irving Morrow .

He then served in the US Army during World War II . He then returned to Broadway, but this time under the name Jeff Morrow, which he kept for the rest of his career. Among other things, he played in Sam Wanamaker's adaptation of Henrik Ibsen's Die Frau vom Meer alongside Herbert Berghoff and Eli Wallach in 1950 . Morrow had guest roles in television series since 1950 , after his last Broadway appearance in June 1952, he focused on his film career.

He made his feature film debut as Paul in the monumental film The Robe at the side of Richard Burton , Jean Simmons and Victor Mature . After a few more appearances in supporting roles, he got the lead role in the 1955 science fiction - B-movie Metaluna IV does not answer . He subsequently played leading roles in other horror and science fiction films as well as westerns belonging to the B-movie genre . As the genre's popularity waned, Morrow returned to television and appeared in guest series appearances, including Bonanza and The People of Shiloh Ranch . In the early 1970s, he appeared again in two horror films before receiving one of the lead roles in the second season of the sitcom Temperatures Rising in 1973 . However, this was set after the end of the season, whereupon Morrow retired from show business in 1975. In 1986 he appeared on television for the last time in a guest role on the series Twilight Zone .

Morrow was married to actress Anna Karen Morrow until his death , the marriage resulted in a daughter.
