The Maison Bornibus is a 1861 established company for the production of mustard . The Bornibus brand name still exists today.

history

Alexandre Bornibus (born in Verpillières-sur-Ource , Département Aube ) founded the company in 1861, which was initially located at 18, boulevard du Combat in Belleville . He changed the previous recipe for Dijon mustard and received a patent for it in 1864 . Because its mustard was successful, the company moved to larger premises on Boulevard de la Villette in Paris. In 1870 Alexandre Bornibus bought house no. 58 on Boulevard de la Villette and had the factory building rebuilt over the next eleven years. Maison Bornibus has received a large number of awards for its products, e. B. at the world exhibition of 1867 in Paris and at the world exhibition of 1873 in Vienna .

When the company founder died in 1882, his three sons took over management of the company. After the First World War , the Boubli family took over the company. When Charles Boubli was managing director in the early 1970s, it had 70 employees.

Today Bornibus is a product name of the AGRODOR company, which is based in Dormans .
