The Maivatn is a lake on the Thatcher Peninsula in the north of South Georgia . It is located near the head of Maiviken Bay . It is the largest and deepest of several freshwater lakes in the area.
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named the lake in 1990 based on the name of the neighboring bay.
